Row for Water

On March 14, 22-year old Katie Spotz entered the record books by completing her 3,038 mile solo row across the Atlantic Ocean, after 70 days, 5 hours and 22 minutes. In doing so, she raised over $100,000 for the Blue Planet Network, a nonprofit funding safe drinking water projects for the billion people around the world in need.

Ride for your Lives

by KATIE on APRIL 27, 2011

Having completed my solo row across the Atlantic Ocean over a year ago, I realized that a year is too long to go without an adventure. Although its tempting not to spend another 70 days alone at sea with sharks, dolphins, and thirty-foot waves, Ive decided to cover another 3,000 miles only this time by land. On June 18th, with my friend Sam, we are taking on a little bicycle trip across the states from Oceanside, CA to Annapolis, MD. From the moment we start, well be riding 24 hours/day until reaching the finish, raising money for a safe drinking water project in Kenya along the way. You didnt expect anything else, now did you?!
