Hi Katie!
Congratulations!
You have done a great, actually a world-class physical and psychological performance, also regarding preparation.
You have not complained much about the weather and other things you can’t influence. This is how one can do such performances, keep a positive attitude. It is inspiring to see what is possible!

If you compare with the Atlantic Rowing Race, they have done 2250 nm. The fastest solo man did it in 52 days. All other solo rowers and most pairs are still out there after 70 days. You have done 2817 nm in 70 days, a simply great performance!

Congratulations again!

Katie, you are amazing. Congratulations on an incredible achievement and for inspiring so many to act with love and generosity towards one another.

Your desire for "the simplicity of the sea" reminded me of this:

I must go down to the seas again, for the call of the running tide
Is a wild call and a clear call that may not be denied;
And all I ask is a windy day with the white clouds flying,
And the flung spray and the blown spume, and the sea-gulls crying.

CONGRATS Katie!!

I am so happy, relieved, and terribly excited for you!! I cannot imagine all that is happening to you emotionally, physically and spiritually. But know that I have become a HUGE fan of yours. You are my (s)hero!

This morning I drove to the office hearing the radio news reporting that "Katie Spotz, a Warren Wilson College graduate, has completed...." I thought 'I know her!'. A swell of warmth filled my heart knowing you are safe. A deep breath filled my lungs and I began trying to picture what kind of greeting you received, the fresh fruit you so craved and the hope that someone got you that grassy drink you mentioned so often. So many people here, that you may never meet, have been touched by what you have accomplished. Bloggers of western NC have posted many reports on you... keeping others up to date on where and what Katie Spotz is doing.

You did it. You succeeded. You have changed lives. You will continue to change lives, by this one act of kindness. It was difficult - clearly. But, it was worth every moment. Thank you. Thank you for being such a selfless person. Thank you for showing that one person can make a difference.
